January Favourites

Hi everyone and welcome back to The Coveted Lifestyle!

I actually can’t believe its February already, like how are we already a month into 2017. February is looking to be a busy month for me as me and my boyfriend’s birthday and our anniversary are only 3 days apart and my uni assessments are slowly creeping up so I think its time to talk about all my favourite products from January and not think about how busy February is going to be.

Sleek Face Contour Kit

In January I rediscovered my face contour kit by Sleek and I’m glad I did. Its small and compact which means it’s a good handbag size so you can take it on the go as well as small enough keep inside your makeup bag on a day-to-day basis which is what I’ve been doing. I’ve been using it on more natural makeup days when I don’t want a lot of makeup on but I still want to look glowy. I use the contour shade as an overall bronzer as well as in the hollows of my cheekbones and it adds a nice colour to my skin which I need as I’m really fair. The colour isn’t too orange for me which usually happens with some products. I then use the highlight which I apply using a stippling brush on the tops of my cheek bone and it gives me such a light healthy glow.

Rimmel Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder

I love this powder the more and more I use it. When I bought it I never expected much from it as it’s a drugstore powder but I use this more than my MAC powder now. I have it in transparent and I use it to mostly bake my under eye area after concealer but I also use it occasionally to powder all of my face. It doesn’t have flash back which is good for in photos and it gives my skin a nice matte look and a silky feel to my face, giving the name “silky loose powder”. For the price which I’m sure is around £6.99 it is a really good powder to have in your collection and may be a good loose powder to start with before investing in a high end one.

Origins GinZing Mascara and Benefit Rollerlash

This combo is amazing on my lashes. The GinZing mascara makes my eyes look really wide and open which is great for those days where I’ve not had as much sleep as I would have liked and it gives my lashes some volume and length. I then pair it with Benefit Rollerlash and it gives my lashes a slight curl without having to use eyelash curlers on my lashes in the first place. I love this look as I’m not the best at applying false lashes so I hardly ever wear them so this gives my lashes a nice long fluttery look that false lashes give.

Top to Bottom -Morphe Gum Drop, Morphe Pretty in Pink, NYX Butter Gloss “Tiramisu”, Sleek Face Contour Kit

Morphe Single Eyeshadows in “Gum Drop” and “Pretty in Pink”

These shadows have been sitting in my drawer for a while unused but recently I decided to use them for a change and ever since I’ve been using them daily . They create such a cute summery look which takes about 2 minutes to do which is great for when I’m in a rush. I use “Pretty in Pink” first in the crease then add “Gum Drop” on top. Paired with the mascara combo I’ve just talked about it and it’s become my favourite eye look recently.

NYX Butter Gloss in “Tiramisu”

I love the NYX Butter Gloss range, they are very pigmented for a lip gloss so it gives a nice colour to your lips when you don’t want to wear a lipstick. The shade “Tiramisu” is my favourite as it’s a brown nude colour which I can wear on a day-to-day basis. I’ve been pairing “Tiramisu” on top of Kylie Cosmetics lip kit in “Exposed” and it completely changes wearing liquid lipstick in the winter. My lips have been quite chapped recently so matte lips just don’t look nice so adding the gloss over the top gives my lips a different look and lets me wear my matte lips in the winter. They match well and they last a while on your lips. Its a great handbag lip colour to carry around.

Real Techniques Complexion Sponge

This sponge has become an essential item for me. I’ve had this sponge in the past and I hated it but I think it was because I wasn’t using it right. I use this sponge for so much, I use it for foundation, concealer, baking and concealer on my eyelids. It is so versatile with the pointed top for getting into the corners of my eyes while the flat bottom is better for larger surfaces. I take this sponge everywhere with me and I couldn’t think of never having this in my life now.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you in my next post!
