Hi everyone and welcome back to The Coveted Lifestyle!
A few blog posts back I reviewed the Lush Cosmetic Warrior Mask to see if that would help clear up my skin as it was going through a really bad patch. It worked but it didn’t help in the long run, my skin still stayed bad. I was at my wits end with my skin, I hated wearing makeup as I never felt it looked good. I even considered going to a private dermatologist because I felt it was that bad. After a while I’ve finally managed to get my skin back to how it was before and I’m managing to keep my skin at bay.
Heres a little background on my skin over the last couple of months. I had one of the worst spells of spots ever, majority of my face was covered. My forehead was the worst place for them, I had tons of spots that after one went away another appeared. I also had these horrible under the skin spots that just wouldn’t budge at all. I really didn’t know what was causing it and not one product I tried helped my skin. It took a lot of experimenting to be able to find the right products but I’m finally enjoying my skincare routine and my skin again.
I’ve really striped my skincare down and I keep it to around 4 products at night and 5 products in the morning. I think this really helps my skin as I’m putting too many products on my skin which could clog it up. I feel simple skincare routines are so much better now than having about 10 products in your skincare routine, plus its saving me so much time as I don’t take as long to do it (perfect for when I’m really tired).
The majority of my new products are from The Body Shop as I re found my love for their skincare. I find their skincare so affordable but amazing and there is always usually a 3 for 2 offer on when I go. This isn’t a sponsored post or anything like that, I just really love The Body Shop. I’ve linked all the products below as they are all worth a look and you can also read all the other reviews on them. So now onto my skincare products.
My current cleanser is the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser. I bought this because of Fabulous Han on YouTube (I’ll link her channel here as her channel is amazing) as she talks about it so much. This is just a nice gentle cleanser that leaves my skin feeling so soft, fresh and clean. I’ve been using this day and night for over a month and I’m nowhere near finished the bottle. Compared to other cleansers I’ve had I feel this makes my skin cleaner (weird I know) but I feel like I don’t have to double cleanse with this as my face feels clean enough after one use.
I repurchased my favourite Lush Tea Tree Water Toner as I’d ran out of my old bottle. I really think this has helped restore balance in my skin, I can notice so much of a difference when I’m not using this. I think tea tree really works well for my skin, whenever I use this my skin just clears and looks good. I wasn’t using this when my skin was going through the really bad patch and as soon as I started using it again my skin really calmed down. I think along with one other product this has been a saving grace to my skin.
I’ve started using the Vitamin E Night Cream as my usual nightly moisturiser as my L’oreal one had ran out. I like this, as just like the Vitamin E cleanser, it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated in the morning. I had some dry skin around my nose from having a cold and using this on it for a few days had cleared it up. It’s perfect for the winter time as my skin can sometimes develop dry spots so this will come in handy.
I think the real game changer for my skin is the Tea Tree Night Mask. I got recommended this by someone on Instagram (I wish I had kept the message about it now as I’ve completely forgot who recommended me it, sorry) as she said it worked really well. It feels very weird in the pot, not like a normal face mask, but after one night of using it my skin looked so much clearer, a lot of the pesky under the skin spots had gone and some of my bigger spots where smaller in size. I use this every night now as I don’t want my spots to return.
For my morning skincare I use the Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream. I use this whenever I’m going to wear a lot of makeup as it keeps my skin matte and oil free. I don’t use this when I don’t wear makeup so on those days I use the Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. It’s very similar to the Origins Ginzing moisturiser so if you want a slightly cheaper dupe then this it a good one. It just makes my skin look a lot brighter and less tired, it gives me a healthy glow.
A new product I’ve started using is SPF’s. I’ve never used just an SPF on my face before, it’s always either been in my foundation or in moisturisers (or suncream) but after I got really burned on holiday I thought it was time I started using SPF’s. I see tons of YouTubers use them and talk about all the benefits but I’ve never really thought that much about getting them. I use the Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence as it had really good reviews. I haven’t noticed a massive difference in my skin yet as I’ve only been using it for a week but my skin does feel good after applying it and I know internally my skin is thanking me.
I’m really happy with my skin at the minute, I finally feel confident and happy enough to go out wearing no makeup or barely any. If I had to recommend one product thats really helped my spots I’d have to say its the Tea Tree Night Mask. I’m going to start looking into getting a new face mask as thats the only think in my collection that I don’t have that I love lots. Any suggestions would be amazing!
