Hi everyone and welcome back to The Coveted Lifestyle!
I’ve never done this type of post before so I’m quite excited to do it. I really love morning routine videos, I wasn’t sure if it was a ‘thing’ to write morning routine blog posts until I read Dreaming of Pink’s summer morning routine which I loved. It gave me the idea to write one about my own morning routine, specifically on days when I’ve got uni. On the days I’m at uni my mornings are usually very different to my days off as I’m up earlier than usual and I don’t really have time to lounge about, although I usually do end up lounging about.
Depending on what time my classes are at I’ll either get up at 7:15am for my 9:15 class and 9am whenever my classes are later on in the day. My class was at 12:15 today, I think I woke up at 8:30 (I never checked what time it was as I woke up before my alarm). I’m one of those people that as soon as my alarm goes off I get straight out of bed as I’d probably end up falling asleep if I didn’t. It’s so strange as whenever I’m in my own house I can never lie in bed after I’ve woken up but whenever I’m at my boyfriends house I always lie in bed for ages after I’ve woken up.
Depending on how much time I have before I have to leave I’ll either jump in the shower first then have breakfast or I’ll do it the other way round. Today I had my breakfast first as I had more time to get ready and I put Game of Thrones on while I ate it because I always watch TV or Youtube while eating breakfast. I usually have toast and a cup of tea for breakfast, something simple and easy. I added a slice of ham to my toast today to make a sandwich, very yummy. I always end up spending too much time eating my breakfast and watching TV but I enjoy relaxing in the morning and I still left for uni at the right time.
I then jump in the shower to start the process of getting ready. I wash my hair everyday usually as my hair needs it. The only time I don’t wash my hair everyday is when I have work. I don’t use a specific shampoo and conditioner, I just use whatever is in my bathroom as I share my shampoo with my mum. The Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner was in my shower today as all my other ones had ran out. I hardly use this one as I like to keep it for special occasions because it makes my hair so soft and silky and it costs around £10 each to buy so I prefer to save it.
I’ve been loving using The Body Shop’s Coconut shower gel to wash with, it smells amazing and if I have to shave which I did today I use my Friction Free Shaving Samantha Razor and their shaving cream.I always wash my face in the shower for quickness, using my everyday cleanser from The Body Shop. I usually spend around 15 minutes in the shower, it all depends on if I’m shaving if it takes me longer.
Once I’m out the shower I get all dried and changed into some comfy clothing, recently I’ve been so into wearing my dressing gown from Victoria’s Secret, while I do my skincare and my makeup. I already have a blog post up of my skincare so if you’re interested in seeing what products I use then I’ll link my post here. I sit for about 5 minutes (if I can) before I put my makeup on to let my skincare sink in. My usual makeup look for uni takes about 5/10 minutes as I don’t usually have the time to do a full glam makeup look and I also don’t feel the need to go to uni with lot’s of makeup on. Occasionally I’ll go in with no makeup on but I usually go in with bare minimal.
After finishing my makeup, I make my bed before getting changed into my clothes for the day, usually just jeans and a t-shirt. Today I picked my ripped jeans from Pull and Bear and my cropped pink t-shirt that has mermaid tails coming out the pocket from Bershka. I never took a photo of this outfit sadly but it’s just a casual comfy outfit with minimum effort. I then make sure my uni bag is all prepared and packed, it usually always is but I like to make sure because knowing me I’d forget something important. Surprisingly I dry my hair last, just before heading out the door. I like to leave my hair to dry naturally a little before going in with my hairdryer as it takes me ages to dry my hair. I then just my shoes and jacket on before heading out the door to drive to uni.
I really enjoyed writing this post, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it. I might do another morning routine but one that isn’t uni related. I’ve finished all my uni assessments now so I’ve got a whole stream of blog posts planned to go up soon so stay tuned.
