Hi everyone and welcome back to The Coveted Lifestyle!
I’ve been watching this style of video on Nicole Renee’s channel on Youtube for a while now and I thought that seeing as I love her little series so much I’ll create my own one. I am 100% giving credit to Nicole for creating this series, I do not want to claim this idea for my own. Basically, if you’ve never seen any of her videos in the series (I’ll link them all here) the structure of this is just discussing what new beauty products I’m wanting to buy (eying) and what ones I don’t (not buying). I also have a little in-between section for releases that I am still not sure whether or not I want to buy. All the products mentioned in this post can be found on Trendmood’s Instagram with also more details about the products.
Now, this is something very exciting. I have tried the Colourpop No Filter Concealer and I do really like it so when I saw they are bringing out the No Filter Foundation I know I need to try it. They are bringing out over 40 shades of this which is amazing but it’s also only $12 which is so cheap. I will probably get a better view on this when more people bring out review videos for it but so far I’m liking the look of this. From KathleenLights review video and on TrendMood’s Instagram they say it is a lightweight formula which is medium to full coverage. It also has a matte finish which I do like but it slowly isn’t my favourite any more.
The timing of this post is actually really good as Jaclyn Hill posted her announcement video for this collaboration yesterday. Jaclyn Hill x Morphe pt 3 is happening and if these new palettes are anything like her other palette then these are going to be amazing. She said on her twitter a few days before the announcement video that there are 4 palettes in the collab. The shades in the palette are the shades she created when creating The Jaclyn Hill palette last year. There is a purple palette (Blingboss), red palette (Ring the Alarm), yellow palette (Armed and Gorgeous) and blue/green palette (Dark Magic). My personal favourites are the red and yellow palettes, they will be the 2 I buy as the other 2 aren’t really my cup of tea. Each individual palette is $15 (not sure what it’ll be in pounds) or $49 for the vault which has all 4 palettes.
This is a completely new brand for me which is part of the reason I’m trying this product but also because this product looks very similar to a certain concealer. I think Nabla Cosmetics is an Italian brand, I think BeautyBay stock some of their products and I see on Instagram that they are going to be stocking their new concealer (when I post this they do actually stock it now). The concealer is called the Close-Up concealer and the packaging looks very similar to the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. From reviews I’ve seen online, it seems full coverage like Shape Tape but I don’t think its meant to be as thick as it. The concealers cost £15 on Beautybay or €15.90 on their own website. I do love trying out new concealers so this one is at the top of my list.
Now, this palette was definitely a “do I, don’t I” decision. So Manny MUA launched his own brand Lunar Beauty at the end of May and his palette Life’s a Drag palette has only just released. I mean this palette is really pretty, I think the pops of colour is what draws me into the palette as the neutral shades are very basic I could find them in any palette. The reason why I’m so hit or miss about this palette is I know it’s going to have a hefty price tag on it and for only really wanting it for the brights. It is releasing on BeautyBay which is good as it means that I won’t have to pay shipping and customs if I do decide to buy the palette.
I have seen so many people rave about the products in the past 2 MAC x Patrick Starr collections so now that round 3 is out I feel like I want to try some of the products in this range. The range is called Tropical-chic and I love everything about this collection, I love things that have tropical vibes to them. I like the full face kit as it would mean I could try out the majority of the collection as it comes with 2 lipglosses, 1 quad eyeshadow palette and a bronzer which I think is what I’m most excited for. I do really like this collection but I don’t know if I’m actually that bothered about buying it, the price tag is £49 for the face kit which for MAC is very affordable but I don’t actually know if I’m interested in buying it.
I love how all my in-between products are from Youtubers. I have never been a big Jeffree Star person and I’ve only ever had one of his products before and it wasn’t that good but this really caught my eye. I’ve seen all his Summer collections but this one just looks amazing. I don’t particularly like the whole collection, mostly just the thirsty palette. I think the main reason why I like the palette so much is the packaging, it looks like an ice lolly and it’s bright orange which I love. Half of me really wants this palette so I can try out Jeffree Star but the other doesn’t want to get it as I probably wouldn’t use half the shades in the palette but also because some of the shades are very similar to the Lunar Beauty Life’s a Drag palette so there is no point in buying both.
These are obviously going to be a not buying. I do really like KKW but when it comes to KKW Beauty I just have no time for it. She is just released new lipsticks in 8 different shades and 3 lip liners. I think these are the same formula as her lipstick in the collar with Mario but I don’t need more nude lipsticks, especially with the price tag of hers. They cost $18 but with added shipping and customs there is no point in me buying these. Also, they don’t really appeal to me, none of them stand out to me as being a shade I really need.
Another eyeshadow palette, this time one I won’t be buying. I feel really bad but I’ve never been a big Urban Decay person, I can literally count on one hand how many products of theirs I have. When I saw they are launching their Born to Run Palette I was like “oh that sounds interesting” until I see the photos. I just wouldn’t use this at all. It does look like a nice palette but if I’m thinking realistically I wouldn’t use this palette at all. The packaging of the palette is stunning and that’s what drew me into the palette in the first place but the shades don’t excite me at all.
Now, these are kind of a new release, they have been out for a few weeks but I still want to mention these. The Dose of Colours Block Party shadows do look amazing, if you haven’t seen them they are little single shimmer eyeshadows but these pack the punch. From swatches, I’ve seen they look really pretty, very pigmented and intense but that isn’t the reason I’m not purchasing them. These cost £16, £16 for one eyeshadow. That is insane. I don’t really care how pigmented these are, for £16 I expect to get a few more shadows than just now. I really couldn’t justify paying £16 for just one eyeshadow no matter how pigmented it is.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed this little eyeing and not buying. I might do these on a 2-week basis as there is always new makeup being released so I have will always have new releases to talk about, I will try and incorporate more affordable makeup into the mix in the next one.
