Hi everyone and welcome back to The Coveted Lifestyle!
It’s time for the second of my 2 university related posts this week. I’m now trying to get back into a routine for uni and part of that routine is putting my makeup on. I feel I’ve managed after 2 days of being back I’ve managed to get a makeup look for uni sorted. I’m not the type of person that goes full glam to uni as I don’t have the time for that, I’d rather have the extra sleep but also just because I don’t really like wearing too much makeup on an everyday basis. I’ve managed to get my everyday makeup for uni down to 20 minutes which for me is actually very very quick.
The steps in my makeup routine may be quite a lot for some people but they are all necessary steps for me. I obviously do my skin care before I start doing my makeup which is usually just my spot cream, moisturiser, eye cream. I do usually put my antibiotic cream on every day and I do put a very thin layer of it on but sometimes it starts to peel off throughout the day so it can be quite annoying to wear under makeup.
The steps I do in my makeup routine are: Primer, Foundation, Concealer, Powder, Brows, Bronzer, Eyes, Highlighter, Lips if I’m doing lips then setting spray. I usually don’t actually put a lipstick on just because I don’t take any makeup to uni with me so I find it easier not to wear a lip colour. I also don’t wear any blush, I just put some bronzer on my cheeks as I’m usually not too bothered about blush.
The products in my uni routine change slightly every time but I’ll list the usual products I use when I show you my look. When it comes to my eyes I barely do anything with them, I usually just out some bronzer all over the lid and in my crease to give definition to my eyes. No cut creases or halo eyes for uni, I’m basic when it comes to uni. Also, the majority of the products I use are affordable which is great for students as not everyone can afford expensive makeup. I’ll underline all the products I’ve used in the photo I’m posting as I’ve put down alternatives that I also sometimes use.
PRIMER – Revolution Pro Prime and Hydrate
FOUNDATION – Either the Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation or the Fast Base Foundation stick
CONCEALER – Either the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer or the Fast Base Concealer
POWDER – MAC Mineralised Skin Finish in Light Plus
BRONZER – Either the CYO Bronzer or Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
HIGHLIGHTER – Usually either theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer or I Heart Revolution Bronze and Glow Palette
BROWS – Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil, Benefit Gimmie Brow+ and Benefit 24 Hour Brow Set
MASCARA – Either the Essence False Lash Princess or Benefit Gimmie Brow
SETTING SPRAY – Revolution Hylaronic Fix Setting Spray
GET UNREADY WITH ME
I thought if I’m going to talk about getting ready for uni I may as well talk about getting unready from uni. That may sound weird but why not talk about what I do once I get home from uni and unwind. The best way I’ve found to unwind from uni and relax is taking off my makeup. By the time I get home from uni (I finish uni at 5 both days), my makeup’s been on for around 9 hours and probably doesn’t look that great so it makes me feel much better once it’s off.
A new product that I use to take off my makeup is the Magn!tone London WIPEOUT Cleansing Cloths*. This is a microfibre cleansing cloth that removes your makeup with just water so there is no need for any cleansers. There is 2 in the packet and what’s better is that these are pink, who wouldn’t love take their makeup off with a pink cloth. All you have to do is wet the cloth with warm water and then wipe your face and your makeup comes off. I was so surprised with how well it removed all my makeup and even my eye makeup, usually, my eyes are always sore after I’ve spent ages removing my eye makeup. I’m going to do a full in-depth review of them in a few weeks but they make taking makeup off easy and it’s such a time saver which is great so I can relax longer after uni.
And that is my 20-minute makeup routine for uni and also my get unready with me from uni. I genuinely don’t think I’ll be changing this routine as it’s such a quick and easy look that also looks good. If anything is to change I think I’ll end up stopping wearing makeup as I’ll be too stressed to even put makeup on. I will be posting an in-depth review on the Magn!tone WIPEOUT cloths in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that.
